Virtual Race to benefit "The Race Against Cancer": A success from green flag to podium - 7,365 Thank You's!

On Saturday, April 25, 52 teams, totalling 112 drivers, set off on the Road America virtual track for the first edition of the Sly Sim Racing Enduro, a 6-hour race for the benefit of "TheRace Against Cancer" program put on by Dumoulin Competition. The event was a success beyond all expectations both with racers, event partners and spectators. In only 24 hours, the event more than tripled the original campaign target, creating a momentum of generosity that eventually reached $ 7,365, to benefit the Quebec Cancer Foundation. Our gratitude towards each one of you is tremendous.

"We are very proud of all the people who organized and added their support to the event to help the Quebec Cancer Foundation, especially Sylvain Bernier, the owner of Sly Sim Racing, who organized the event and supplied his simulation infra structure to run the event and to assemble the prizes. His team created an exciting event that touched the drivers, their fans and partners, and raised an amazing amount of money for our noble cause. All in all, it's a "Wow!" from start to finish. People facing cancer always need support to get through that horrible disease, and in a period like the one we are living through right now, our support is even more vital to them", mentioned Jean-François and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.

"This cause is important to me, as my sister-in-law underwent a bone marrow transplant, and her brother saved her life. For the race, our initial goal was to raise $1,000, I believed in it, even though the current social situation did not help. We didn't know how things might turn out. In fact, every aspect turned out much better than we expected: partners, entries, contributions all merged to produce a very special event. This is incredible! I would like to acknowledge the collaboration of Bruno Pichette, who was with us all the way, producing videos and photos. Thank you all for your involvement. As a group we made a difference. Thanks also go to both Raphael Lessard (Driver in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series) and Etienne Cliche (NASCAR Cup Series engineer) who proudly represented Dumoulin Competition. "Thanks to Dumoulin Competition, we had a lot of fun and it's an honour to combine motor racing with a cause that is close to our hearts. The race was a great idea from Sly Sim Racing... We're ready to do it again anytime", said Raphael Lessard and Etienne Cliche. Drivers Jonathan Boivin, Kevin Lacroix and William Lévesque took the victory after an action-filled race.

"We've been seeing more racing events on simulators lately, it is interesting, and it also attracts some excellent professional drivers, with everyone competing on an equal footing. The choices of the Road America road course, and of racing on a dry track were wise ones. A 6-hour Enduro was also a judicious choice, as it gave all the drivers plenty of great track time on the exciting high-speed layout. Congratulations to Jonathan Boivin, Kevin Lacroix and William Lévesque for their victory and thank you to Raphael Lessard and Etienne Cliche for representing us for the cause", concluded the Dumoulin brothers.
