TEAM #47 WEATHERTECH CANADA | GROUPE BELLEMARE EAGER TO BE BACK ON THE TRACK THIS WEEKEND
The 2018 season saw the Team #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare and driver Louis-Philippe Dumoulin win their respective NASCAR Pinty's Series championships. Despite these successes, nothing is taken for granted and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin begins the 2019 season with a new perspective. The extension of the major partnership with WeatherTech Canada, announced in July 2018, allows the team to develop and deliver on a three year upscaled program. Louis-Philippe Dumoulin will be on track this weekend for the first race of the 2019 season on the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park road circuit (Bowmanville, Ontario) driving with all the passion we expect from him and displaying the exciting new colours of his #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare race car.
" I love CTMP! "exclaims Louis-Philippe Dumoulin. "We've done well there in the past, but 2019 is a new year and we want a strong start to the new season. We are doing everything we can to put ourselves in a winning position. Our team build improved cars for our program over the winter."
Louis-Philippe Dumoulin knows how critical the pit stop strategy is at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park: "CTMP is a very, very fast track, and you have to take advantage of the momentum because everything is happening at high speed. The track layout fits my racing style perfectly, producing a great show for the spectators and a real challenge for the drivers," explains the two-time NASCAR Pinty's Series champion, with his usual enthusiasm.
"50 Years at the Wheel," a commitment to help the next generation, and new responsibilities for Dumoulin Compétition
On May 4th, the paid tribute to the Dumoulin family for their 50 years of activity in motor racing, which began in 1969 with the first laps by father Richard Dumoulin. During the celebrations, Dumoulin Compétition announced its new initiative directed towards the next generation in motor sport: the "Dumoulin Compétition Partners in Driver Development" trophy in the Mini Sportsman Québec series. They also announced a new talent development program in partnership with Festidrag Developpement principals Karine Albert and Martin D'Anjou.
On the professional side, Dumoulin Compétition will add new services to racers, preparing and operating the driver's car for a race or an outright turnkey rental service using one of the Dumoulin Competititon cars. Two drivers have already signed rental agreements for this year. Jean-Frédéric Laberge will race a Dumoulin Competition car in the four road course events (both CTMPs, Toronto Indy and the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières) and Raphaël Lessard for the Pinty's event at the short Autodrome Chaudière oval.
" We wanted to demonstrate our abilities and develop our expertise before preparing cars for other drivers. Proving to ourselves and to others that we can provide competitive cars is important to us. We are delighted to have two very good drivers as our customers at this point. Raphael is a standout in stock car racing in the United States and Jean-Frédéric is a champion in the Porsche GT3 Canada Cup. We are open to preparing cars for other drivers, but before we officially launch that program, we want to make sure that we can take good care of those who have already signed with us," explain Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.

"The race against cancer" continues
Following the success of its fundraising over the past three years, Dumoulin Compétition is renewing its commitment to a cause close to our hearts: "le Grand défoulement à ma façon de la Fondation québécoise du cancer." The Dumoulin brothers once again invite fans to sign their race car trunk lids at every NASCAR Pinty's Series race and support the race against cancer.
