Quebec Cancer Foundation's 2022 fundraising campaign

Seventh edition of Dumoulin Competition's "Race Against Cancer"

Under the theme "With you at the heart of our action, we help more people, everywhere in Quebec", the Quebec Cancer Foundation is launching its annual fundraising campaign. Once again this year, Jean-Francois and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, professional race car drivers, will act as campaign presidents. Dumoulin Competition is also launching its seventh (7th) edition of "The Race Against Cancer" tonight at a 5@7 fundraiser for the cause, organized by Guy Brousseau, a long-time friend of the Dumoulin family, at Les Contrebandiers restaurant in Trois-Rivieres.

Fundraising Campaign

With the goal of raising $600,000 in the Mauricie region, this campaign will support the Foundation's mission to better support programs and services offered to people affected by cancer in the Mauricie region and throughout Quebec. Although the survival rate is increasing every year in Quebec, close to 56,000 cancer diagnoses are announced and received.

"The pandemic has reminded us that health is our most precious asset and that solidarity can save lives. It is essential to support the Quebec Cancer Foundation which provides invaluable support to those affected by this disease. The Quebec Cancer Foundation has long been a cause dear to our hearts. We have seen the essential role played by this very human Foundation, having ourselves been closely affected by the disease in our family and our entourage," say Jean-Francois and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.

The Foundation offers services focused on the daily needs and concerns of people affected by cancer. It is there, at the heart of the ordeal, to listen, inform, comfort, accompany and accommodate them.

"I am happy to be able to count on a campaign team made up of committed people and, of course, on the renewed support of Jean-Francois and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, chairs of our 2022 campaign. All of us believe that it is possible to improve the daily lives of people affected by cancer. However, to do so, we need the support of the population and the business community. Everyone must feel concerned so that we can continue our commitment to the people living in the Mauricie region who who are touched by cancer," says Luce Girard, Director of the Mauricie Regional Centre and Hospitality of the Quebec Cancer Foundation.

5@7 to benefit "The Race Against Cancer" - Guy Brousseau

Since 2016, many people, companies and organizations have been mobilizing for the cause to benefit the Quebec Cancer Foundation. The collaboration between the Quebec Cancer Foundation and Dumoulin Competition was a great success. In total, $91,897 has been raised in "The Race Against Cancer" over the years. This year, we are starting the "Grand Défoulement à ma façon" with the initiative of Guy Brousseau who has chosen to donate his tips and salary for the evening to a cause that is close to his heart: "The Race Against Cancer" of Dumoulin Competition. The owners of the restaurant Les Contrebandiers have also joined the cause and will donate a percentage of sales.

"After 36 years of serving you, the time has come to put away my apron. Thursday March 24th will be my last shift as a waiter, and I will have the pleasure to be accompanied by my eternal accomplice: my daughter Alyssa. You will have the opportunity to buy my last work apron which I will put up for auction...THANK YOU for being there, I can't wait to see you all", explains Guy Brousseau with enthusiasm.

We are also grateful for the commitment of the restaurant Les Contrebandiers, which will host us for the occasion," the Dumoulin brothers point out.

About the Quebec Cancer Foundation

For 40 years, the Quebec Cancer Foundation has used the funds raised to provide daily support to thousands of Quebecers living with cancer and their loved ones. It offers physical well-being programs and psychological support through its regional centres in Montreal, Quebec City, Sherbrooke, Gatineau, Trois-Rivières and Lévis, in addition to having the largest network of shelters in the province.
