LOUIS-PHILIPPE DUMOULIN BACK ON TRACK AT ICAR THIS SATURDAY NIGHT
Fourth race of the 2017 season of the NASCAR Pinty's Series: The Ecko Unlimited 75 at ICAR
The #47 WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare team has set the highest possible objectives for itself at the upcoming NASCAR Pinty's Series round scheduled for this coming Saturday (July 8) at the ICAR (Mirabel, QC) road course. Since 2011, veteran driver Louis-Philippe Dumoulin has accumulated five Top-5 finishes at this track, including two podium finishes in 2013 and 2014. Louis-Philippe Dumoulin came to NASCAR from road racing roots and has shown his considerable skills and experience on such tracks over the years. The team and driver are well placed to reach their goals over the coming weekend: a strong finish and a good points harvest leading to a series championship at the end of the season.
ICAR has reconfigured the track and changed the race schedule for this year's event. The race will take place over one day, Saturday, July 8, will start at 7pm, and will use a shortened version of the track to ensure that the spectators can see all the action from all seating areas. Scheduled for 75 laps of the new shorter and tighter track, the spectators can expect a lot of "rubbin" and spectacular passing moves from green to checked flags.
Louis-Philippe Dumoulin has participated in a great evolution with his team in 2016: "We learned a lot about team preparation and management over 2016, our rookie year as an independent team. We could feel this build up over every race last year and I still feel the positive evolution at every race this year. Our team has grown into an effective, well-integrated unit and we can all see and feel the difference every time out. I look forward to contributing to the great synergy we have built up, especially at ICAR, a track I enjoy very much at the wheel of the WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare #47".
Racing in the evening is nothing new for Dumoulin, who raced in daylight and darkness at major international events such as the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring. He added that "The short, tight track and racing under the lights does not affect my driving. We have done well in similar situations in the past, and we are certainly aiming for a win on Saturday".
The "Race Against Cancer" was launched last May 31st. Join one of our lead teams (Or both) by signing your name on the rear trunk cover of Louis-Philippe's #47 (WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare)or on his brother Jean-Francois #04 (Spectra Premium / Bernier Crépeau / Groupe Bellemare / MIA) car. Just look for our teams when you get to the track on Saturday.
