The #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare team is thrilled to be heading to Exhibition Place (Toronto) on July 15. Louis-Philippe Dumoulin knows this urban track like the back of his hand, having competed there on several occasions.

Louis-Philippe Dumoulin is also looking forward to defending his team colours on the track in the province where the head office of his major partner, WeatherTech Canada, is located.

"I won a race in 2002 in a Formula Ford on this track," explained Louis-Philippe Dumoulin. "We scored several podiums finishes in the past in the NASCAR Pinty's Series in Toronto, but we have not yet won, and we really want to win this race. Our set-up for the urban circuits is improving every year and we are ready. We have a lot of race fans coming to meet us there and it's 'racing at home' for WeatherTech Canada."

The driver of the #47 WeatherTech Canada car compares the Exhibition Place track to the Trois-Rivieres Grand Prix (GP3R) layout, "There is a strong resemblance between the Toronto and Trois-Rivieres tracks, mainly because of the walls. It's a type of track that I particularly enjoy, as it requires patience and dexterity because it has many blind corners, especially around the walls in tight corners. There is no room for error and very few opportunities for overtaking, which makes the races exciting for the fans," according to Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.

The Friday morning practice session will be combined with the qualifying session, and the best lap times will be used to determine the starting grid. At 1:30 pm, fans will be invited to meet the NASCAR Pinty's drivers for an autograph session, followed by the start of the Grand Prix of Toronto at 4:00 pm on Friday, July 15.

Dirt Track Experience

Louis-Philippe Dumoulin is well prepared for the race on the streets of Toronto. He has also done his homework for the August 16 race on the Ohsweken Speedway dirt track.

On July 1st, the Trois-Rivieres driver was invited by Dominic Lussier, the promoter of the Granby track, to work on his driving technique on dirt. "I really enjoyed the experience at Autodrome Granby," said Dumoulin. "Dominic Lussier's team gave me a good car and my instructor for the day, Joey Ladouceur, was really efficient."
