Team #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare performed to perfection today on the Trois-Rivières Grand Prix circuit. After the deluge and cancellations of Saturday's practice and qualifying sessions (August 10), NASCAR offered the teams 30 minutes on dry track this morning during which Louis-Philippe Dumoulin recorded the fastest time. In third place on the starting grid, determined by the owners' ranking in the championship, a flawless and most effective racing strategy was delivered by the driver, his Crew Chief Robin McCluskey and the team members at WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare. From start to finish, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin protected his third, then second, then first place to take the lead on lap 45 of 50 and go on to a brilliant win.

"We fought tirelessly for this podium and we won!" mentions Louis-Philippe Dumoulin with emotion. It was a long weekend for the WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare team, the supporters and everyone on site. It is important to focus on what matters and that is what we have done. The team did an excellent job of preparation and offered me a great car that worked perfectly everywhere on the track, and especially at the end of the race. The battle with Alex Tagliani was a lot of clean fun for us and the crowd, I am sure.

We won the 50^th edition, it's a historic moment for us and I'm very proud of the entire Dumoulin Competition team. Being on the podium with my brother! We had dreamed of this from the beginning, in addition to doing it on the 50^th anniversary of the Dumoulin family in racing, it's a very intense feeling to explain," mentioned the winner of the event so significant at home.

50^th edition of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières & "50 years at the wheel" for the Dumoulin family

The Dumoulin family could not have dreamed of a better scenario to celebrate their "50 years at the wheel" and the 50^th edition of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. Not only did father and son find themselves on the track together for the first time, but they are also experiencing a historic moment by achieving a double on the podium (Victory and third place) at home, in front of their partners, families, friends and fans.

Richard Dumoulin was honoured yesterday when he had the opportunity to ride in an original Austin Mini, from the time he was racing at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. And not just any Mini, but a Michel Barrette-owned collector machine that he lent to Richard Dumoulin, then repainted in official Austin Mini colours from the time, and then integrated as part of the 50^th anniversary salute to the veteran driver from the early days of the GP3R. The Salute Ceremony to the Dumoulin family's 50 years on the track will remain forever marked in our memories, thanks to Martin D'Anjou from Festidrag and to Dominic Fugère, the General Manager of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, who together orchestrated this tribute.

Next event: Riverside International Speedway (Antigonish - Nova Scotia, August 17, 2019)

The most intense part of the season, with seven races scheduled between June 1 and August 17, continues next weekend at Riverside International Speedway. The half-kilometre banked oval always makes for spectacular races, thanks in great part to the possibility of passing cars on the inside or outside racing line. Run on Saturday, on-track action starts with un-timed practice at 11:30 am (EST), followed by qualifying at 2 pm (EST), and the 300-lap race scheduled to start at 6:45 pm (EST).

"The Dumoulin Corner" exhibit at the Gilles-Villeneuve Museum. On May 8^th, 2018, the brothers Jean-François and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin proudly unveiled "The Dumoulin Corner" (L'Espace Dumoulin), an exhibit at the Gilles-Villeneuve Museum as part of the "50 Years at the Wheel" celebrations. Those who missed the exhibition last year can see it this year, along with the creations of Luc Pilon, who inspired the "50 Years" logo.
