First high speed oval race for Louis-Philippe Dumoulin

NASCAR Pinty's Series: Race 12 - Oval track
New Hampshire Motor Speedway - September 22nd, 2018

The #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare team will be on track for the first ever NASCAR Pinty's event held outside Canada. The Granite 100 will take place at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway (Loudon, New Hampshire, USA) 1.058-mile oval this coming September 21st and 22nd. The high-speed oval, with low banking and relatively long straights, offers up a new challenge for Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, who is naturally eager to learn how to get the most speed out of his car on a very different track than the shorter bullrings visited by the Pinty's series across Canada.

"We have done the work and can't wait to see the results on track at the Friday morning practice session. The team was all in once again to come up with optimal base settings for the WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare #47 racer. We have had great cars every time out so far this year on oval as well as on road courses and are all confidants that we will hit the sweet spot again this weekend", according to Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, the current leader in the Pinty's driver Championship.

New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Created in 1960 as Bryar Motorsport Park, a pure road course for car and motorbike racing, the track was replaced by a 1.058-mile oval in 1990, to bring NASCAR oval racing to New England. Originally modelled after Indianapolis with four distinct corners, the track corners were reshaped in 1992 into the more classic and safer long continuous corners at each end of the track. The 1.058-mile track (1 679 meters) has 1 degree of banking on the straights and 12 degrees of banking in the corners, close enough to regular roads to use a mix of oval and road racing driving techniques and offering a new set-up challenge to drivers and teams on their first race at the track.
