DUMOULIN COMPETITION WILL PREPARE JEAN-FREDERIC LABERGE'S CAR. NASCAR Pinty's Series: Four road races
After winning the NASCAR Pinty's Series Championship in 2018, Dumoulin Competition is moving to the next level for 2019. In addition to preparing Raphael Lessard's car (Autodrome Chaudière, June 29th), Jean-François Dumoulin, General Manager of the team, announced today that Jean-Frederic Laberge will compete in all four races of the NASCAR Pinty's Series on road circuits in car #91 (Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on May 19th and August 25th, Toronto on July 13th and Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières on August 11th). The Quebec City native has won several championships and has competed in various series in Canada and Europe.
Founded in 2009, Dumoulin Competition specializes in the NASCAR Pinty's Series, is taking charge of the entire construction, maintenance, preparation and race support since 2016 of the #04 Spectra Premium | Bernier Crépeau Chrysler Fiat | Groupe Bellemare | MIA | Trois-Rivières Mitsubishi and #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare, driven by brothers Jean-François et Louis-Philippe Dumoulin. The championship won by Louis-Philippe Dumoulin in 2018 testifies to the efficiency and quality of the work accomplished by the specialists at Dumoulin Competition.
"We are delighted with Dumoulin Competition's evolution towards preparing cars for other drivers. We did it last year with Frederic Gabillon [A European driver] and signed with Raphael Lessard a few weeks ago. And now, it is with pleasure that we welcome Jean-Frederic Laberge to Dumoulin Competition for four races. I already worked with Jean-Frederic in the Porsche GT3 Cup Canada, as a driving instructor with the Speed Merchant team, and we won the 2012 championship. We also competed in F1600 together. He is a very good driver and we are happy to have him on the team," explained Jean-François Dumoulin.
From Canada to Europe: a summary of Jean-Frederic Laberge's career
Jean-Frederic Laberge started his career in karting and won the Quebec title in F125 in 1999, before moving to F1600, where he met Jean-François and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin (The Canadian F1600 champion in 2002). Jean-Frederic Laberge won the 1999 rookie of the year title in the F1600 series, in addition to racing GT cars in Quebec, then in the Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC), and thus learning to manage increasingly high-performance cars. His results in the Porsche GT3 Cup Canada from 2011 to 2015 were noteworthy, especially as he won the driving title in 2012 and the Porsche GT3 Cup Canada race at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières in 2013.

Jean-Frederic Laberge then heard the call of Europe and its exciting endurance events on legendary circuits (Monza, Paul Ricard, Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamp, Nurburgring and Dubai) in the Blancpain series aboard high-end car prepared according to FIA GT3 rules. These are exciting GT cars with some 500 to 600 horsepower (Porsche, Ferrari, Mercedes, Audi, Aston-Martin, Bentley, Lamborghini).
"Last year I raced for the first time in the NASCAR Pinty's Series at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres. Alex Tagliani, with whom I have been racing in Europe for several years, insisted that I race in this series and I found the experience interesting and the level of competition high. I particularly appreciate the road courses layouts that I know very well," says Jean-Frederic Laberge.
"Jean-François and I have known each other for about 20 years, and I raced on the same team as Louis-Philippe in F1600. I have confidence in them, it is important for me to encourage a Quebec team, and they are people I know very well. Renting a car prepared by Dumoulin Competition was thus the right choice for me. They are passionate about their racing, their cars are competitive, and they know how to win. »
